Safran Electronics & Defense has introduced NAVPULSE, its latest innovation in Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) technology for the naval sector. This advanced data distribution unit (DDU) is designed to centralise and optimise navigation data from all onboard sensors, enhancing situational awareness and operational precision for modern naval fleets.

NAVPULSE addresses the critical demands of maritime operations by incorporating high-precision timing through an atomic clock, sophisticated anti-jamming, and anti-spoofing technologies. This combination ensures secure and reliable navigation even in complex environments, offering enhanced protection against electronic warfare threats.

The system’s timing synchronisation feature is vital for fleet coordination during mission-critical operations, including communication, navigation, and self-defence. By delivering precise time, attitude, and navigation data across various shipboard systems, NAVPULSE ensures secure and seamless operations, even in environments where GPS signals are disrupted or denied.

“In today’s increasingly contested maritime domain, ensuring vessels can operate safely and with a high degree of precision is critical,” said Alexandre Ziegler, Executive VP of Defense GBU at Safran Electronics & Defense. “Our new NAVPULSE naval data distribution unit brings together the best in PNT technology to give naval forces the edge they need when operating in challenging environments and defending against electronic warfare threats.”

NAVPULSE represents Safran’s commitment to advanced, resilient PNT solutions for maritime defence, offering a modular and adaptive design that allows easy integration with existing and future naval systems. With its focus on high precision, security, and operational efficiency, NAVPULSE is expected to become an essential tool for naval fleets worldwide, reinforcing Safran’s leading position in maritime defence innovation.
