ST Engineering Antycip has revealed the integration of SimCentric’s SAF-FIRES technology with the MAK ONE simulation platform. This advanced collaboration aims to enhance Joint Fires Training for military professionals, with a live demonstration scheduled at the I/ITSEC 2024 event in Orlando, Florida.

SAF-FIRES, a cutting-edge joint fires training solution, expands the capabilities of virtual and constructive simulation systems. It offers users of MAK ONE access to advanced training scenarios, including urban and counter-insurgency operations, UAV surveillance integration, and military-grade targeting accuracy. These capabilities address individual and large-scale training requirements, supporting Joint Terminal Attack Controllers (JTACs), Fire Support Teams (FSTs), and Joint Fires Observers (JFOs).

The technology integration is built on the accredited Call-For-Fire and Close Air Support engine found in SimCentric’s FiresFST. SAF-FIRES provides MAK ONE users with a scalable, interoperable solution that meets the rigorous standards outlined in the Joint Fires Support Executive Steering Committee’s Memorandum of Agreement. This innovation enables participants to train in diverse and complex battle scenarios, coordinating with real pilots and naval gunfire while practising their roles in both individual and group contexts.

The demonstration at I/ITSEC 2024 will showcase VR-Forces for environmental simulation and SAF-FIRES for realistic fire mission execution. Trainees will use VR-Engage and SAF-FIRES interfaces to perform target acquisition and digital command transfer. This live integration will highlight how MAK ONE’s suite, including VR-Forces, VR-Vantage, and SAF-FIRES, creates an immersive training environment.

“We are excited to showcase SimCentric’s SAF-FIRES technology within the MAK ONE ecosystem at I/ITSEC 2024,” stated Colin Chester, Business Development and Sales Executive at ST Engineering Antycip. “This integration will provide a seamless experience for Joint Fires and Close Air Support training, demonstrating how advanced tools can enhance operational readiness.”

Dr Adam Easton, CEO of SimCentric, added: “We are delighted to work closely with Antycip to bring SAF-FIRES to VR-Forces and MAK ONE users. This integration delivers best-in-class Joint Fires and JTAC training, offering advanced Call-For-Fire, fire planning, and instructional analysis tools. With MAK ONE’s terrain streaming technology, scenarios can be simulated anywhere in the world.”
