BOYGA-B, a rotary-wing unmanned aerial vehicle, is designed for tactical missions including reconnaissance, surveillance, target detection and precision munition delivery. It is capable of operating in GNSS-denied or jammed environments and can carry various payloads, including two 81 mm UAV munitions or a TUNGA Smart Munition.
TUNGA is a modular, glide-type guided munition intended for anti-personnel operations, featuring image-based or GNSS-based guidance and proximity-fuze detonation. It includes a 1750 g warhead and supports precision engagement through onboard image processing, and can be deployed from BOYGA-B or compatible aerial platforms.
STM’s General Manager Özgür Güleryüz highlighted the company’s ongoing focus on indigenous solutions driven by operational field requirements. “With the power of Turkish engineering, we are introducing new capabilities to the tactical battlefield,” he said.
He further noted that the BOYGA-B represents an enhanced version of STM’s previous munition-drop UAV, capable of carrying a range of munitions for different threat scenarios. “This makes it an effective solution against a wide range of threats,” Güleryüz stated.
Commenting on TUNGA, Güleryüz added: “TUNGA, on the other hand, leverages image processing technologies to deliver pinpoint strikes via tactical UAVs.” He confirmed that both BOYGA-B and TUNGA have successfully completed field trials and are deployment-ready.
“Both systems have successfully completed field tests and are ready for deployment,” Güleryüz said. “With BOYGA-B and the TUNGA Smart Munition System, STM is taking its UAV expertise to the next level.”
He concluded by reaffirming STM’s commitment to defence innovation: “We will continue to deliver innovative, indigenous solutions for our Armed Forces and our allied nations.”
