The CAMM missile, designed for short to medium range air defence across maritime and land domains, features soft vertical launch technology and 360° coverage. It is known for its high rate of fire and effectiveness against multiple simultaneous threats, with precision described by operators as capable of striking targets as small as a tennis ball moving at twice the speed of sound.
“Sweden continues to place its trust in MBDA’s world-class capabilities with this contract for further CAMM,” said Lorenzo Mariani, Executive Group Director Sales and Business Development at MBDA. “Through continued partnership with MBDA in the air defence domain, Sweden is strengthening the protection of its sovereign airspace, while maintaining interoperability and security with its European and NATO allies.”
Mariani also stated: “CAMM is a missile that has proven itself against the type of evolving threats we are seeing today, and we are honoured to play a critical role in supporting Swedish armed forces.” Sweden joins a growing number of nations adopting CAMM to defend their airspace, reflecting rising demand for modern, versatile missile systems.
MBDA highlighted that this latest agreement strengthens its longstanding collaboration with Sweden and deepens its ties with Swedish industry. The company described such cooperation as “at the core of MBDA’s DNA, it is a golden thread with through multiple successful programmes. Building on these successes give us confidence in our future collaborations.”
