Sweden is set to upgrade its next-generation Gripen E fighters with anti-radiation missiles (ARMs), aimed at countering enemy air defence systems. The acquisition plan for these missiles has been included in Sweden's new armed forces development programme, with the capability expected to be introduced in the long term, between 2031 and 2035. This timeline coincides with the delivery completion of all 60 ordered new generation Gripen E fighters to the Swedish Air Force.
