Hanwha Defence Australia has delivered the first units of its AS9 Huntsman self-propelled howitzers to the Australian Army.

In a series of tests, the Australian Army’s Joint Proof and Experimental Unit (JPEU) has successfully fired 155mm shells from the AS9 Huntsman self-propelled howitzer, marking a significant milestone in modernizing its artillery capabilities. The trials, conducted at Port Wakefield, South Australia, involved firing hundreds of rounds to confirm the safety and reliability of in-service and future ammunition and propellant types, ensuring they meet the gun’s stringent specifications.
