Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land has completed the first-ever crewed live firing of the Challenger 3, marking a major step towards delivery of the British Army’s next-generation Main Battle Tank. The trials, conducted at a Ministry of Defence training centre, represent the first UK firing of a newly developed main battle tank in more than 30 years.

The activity formed part of a phased assurance programme, progressing from remote operation to live firing with a crew in the turret by RBSL personnel.
