The third satellite of the COSMO-SkyMed Second Generation constellation has been successfully launched from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket. The dual-use radar Earth observation system is owned by the Italian Space Agency and the Italian Ministry of Defence, with the satellite built by Thales Alenia Space and operated in orbit by Telespazio.
