First EagleEye radar comes off the GA-ASI production line

On July 31, 2024, the first EagleEye multi-mode radar came off the production line of General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI).

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is continuing its support of EagleEye multi-mode radar development with a company investment to add an Active Electronically Scanned Array (AESA) antenna and associated software that will increase range and deliver significant mode enhancements. AESA will be a “drop-in” hardware upgrade to the existing EagleEye radar and could be an option for the new Gray Eagle 25M (GE 25M) aircraft assembly when ready.

As part of the EagleEye development, GA-ASI will improve target detection range using Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML).

This year will see the launch of Poland’s largest and most advanced satellite to date into Earth orbit. Developed by Creotech Instruments, Scanway, and the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN), EagleEye is based on the proprietary HyperSat platform. This platform enables a wide range of space missions and is already a critical component of many national and European projects, both civilian and defense. The mission scheduled for this year will substantially expedite the commercialization process of the platform. Constructed entirely within Poland and engaging local companies, EagleEye enhances national capabilities in designing small satellites and signifies a pivotal advancement for the Polish space sector. This initiative paves the way for local enterprises into the rapidly expanding and lucrative market for the design, construction, integration, and launch of smallsats.

Creotech Instruments has successfully progressed through key stages of its landmark space project – the construction of the Polish EagleEye observation microsatellite. The recently concluded environmental testing was designed to evaluate the satellite’s resilience against the harsh conditions of space and the rigors of a launch to orbit.
