In a formal signing ceremony on October 15, the NATO Eurofighter and Tornado Management Agency (NETMA) and Eurofighter Jagdflugzeug GmbH concluded the contract for 20 new Eurofighter Tranche 5 aircraft for the German Air Force. These jets will feature the advanced ECRS Mk1 radar system, co-developed by HENSOLDT and Indra, which is already being integrated into Germany’s Quadriga fleet.

The Eurofighter Radar Mk1 Consortium, formed by HENSOLDT and Indra, has finalised production of the first ECRS Mk1 radars featuring upgraded subsystems for the Processor and the Antenna Power Supply & Control (APSC). These enhancements follow a decision in April 2024 by military customers in Germany and Spain to introduce the new hardware into the Mk1 Step 1 configuration.
