JUICE will spend three-and-a-half years examining Jupiter's atmosphere, magnetosphere, set of rings and it will study the large icy moons Ganymede, Europa and Callisto, which are thought to have oceans of liquid water beneath their frozen crusts – perhaps even harboring habitable environments. The mission will culminate in an eight-month tour around Ganymede and end with the probe's planned impact on the moon's surface in 2034.

Thales Alenia Space, the joint venture between Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), has won contracts from the European Space Agency (ESA) to supply a first batch of six small satellites with synthetic aperture radars (SAR) and one satellite based on optical technology for the Italian Earth observation constellation, IRIDE. This innovative new constellation, based on a number of different sensing instruments and technologies, will range from microwave radar imaging to optical sensors at various spatial resolutions and in different frequency ranges, thus becoming a pioneering space program in Earth Observation.

OHB Italia S.p.A, a subsidiary of the German technology and space group OHB SE, has been selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) as the prime contractor to implement the Comet Interceptor science mission. Yesterday, the corresponding contract was signed in Paris. The aim of the mission is to study a long-period comet to gain new insights into the formation and evolution of our solar system. In addition to OHB Italia S.p.A as prime contractor, OHB System AG and OHB Sweden are involved in the implementation of the mission as core team partners. The contract awarded to OHB Italia is worth EUR 117 million. The launch of the mission is scheduled for 2028.

OHB Italia has been selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) as the prime contractor to implement the Comet Interceptor science mission.

Airbus Defence and Space has delivered the first Sentinel-4/UVN (Ultraviolet, Visible and Near Infra-Red) multispectral instrument flight model to the European Space Agency.

OHB Italia, a subsidiary of technology and space group OHB SE, and ESA (European Space Agency) have signed a contract for the development of 12 satellites that will be part of the Italian IRIDE constellation. The constellation will consist of various satellites of different types and sizes combining SAR, optical, panchromatic, hyperspectral and infrared sensors. Main target of the constellation is Earth observation to manage hydrogeological instabilities and fires, protect coastlines and critical infrastructure, monitor air quality and weather conditions and provide analytical data for the development of commercial applications.
