Honeywell announced on 28 May that its advanced F124 turbofan engine is being proposed for key defence programmes in Japan, marking an expansion of the company’s role in supporting the Japan Air Self-Defense Force’s (JASDF) fleet modernisation. The engine is under consideration for the replacement of the T-4 trainer aircraft and the future Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) initiative.
