GE to equip new UK Fleet Solid Support (FSS) ships

GE Vernova’s Power Conversion business in the UK has been chosen by Team Resolute to supply advanced hybrid propulsion technology for three Fleet Solid Support (FSS) ships for the UK Ministry of Defence.

GKN Aerospace and GE strengthen existing partnership with wide-ranging new agreement, covering new technology, original equipment production and expanded aftermarket engagement in the GEnx programme. Wide-ranging agreement includes introduction of sustainable new material solutions, as well as life-of-programme contracts for the GEnx, CF6, GE90 and GE9X fan cases. GKN Aerospace also joins the global GEnx engine repair network, supporting more than 2,000 engines currently in service.

GKN Aerospace and GE have deepened their long-term partnership on a series of industry-leading engines including the GEnx programme.

GE’s CT7-2E1 hit a significant milestone with its 250th engine delivery. The 250th CT7-2E1 engine was shipped to Leonardo in late September in support of the AW149 and AW189 helicopter programs respectively.
