Rohde & Schwarz has been commissioned to supply and integrate systems for communications and radar electronic support measures (C-ESM/R-ESM) from the R&S KORA family for the German Navy's F124 Sachsen class frigates, making a significant contribution to platform protection. Following approval by the Budget Committee of the German Bundestag, the contract was signed on 18 October in Koblenz with the German Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use (BAAINBw) of the German Armed Forces.

All F124 Sachsen class frigates, as well as several shore installations, will be equipped with Rohde & Schwarz KORA 40 systems.

At SMM 2024, the leading major trade fair for the maritime industry, thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and NVL announced the planned establishment of a joint venture and signed a cooperation agreement. The aim of the cooperation is to jointly realize the construction of the MEKO A-400 AMD – a pioneering ship concept from thyssenkrupp Marine Systems that was specially developed to meet the requirements of a German Navy air defense frigate.

The German Navy (Deutsche Marine) has christened the second ship in the second batch of K130 corvettes, the Emden, at the Blohm+Voss shipyard on May 4th. The shipbuilding company, NVL, began constructing the vessel in October 2019, making it the seventh K130 corvette in the Braunschweig-class.

The German Navy (Deutsche Marine) has christened the second ship in the second batch of K130 corvettes, the Emden.

Damen Marine Components has received the order to design, engineer and produce eight rudders for the four F126 frigates that Damen Naval is building for the German Navy. Each vessel will be equipped with two rudders, developed to withstand extreme shocks and to improve the hydrodynamic properties of the fast vessels.
