French defence company Safran Electronics & Defense and Indian state-owned Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have signed a partnership agreement to establish a joint venture for the production, customisation, sale, and maintenance of HAMMER (Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range) precision-guided air-to-ground weapon systems in India. The collaboration is intended to strengthen India’s defence manufacturing capabilities and support its goal of reducing dependence on foreign imports.
