German defence company Hensoldt and Bulgarian UAV manufacturer Dronamics have announced a joint unmanned airborne platform and Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance solution built around the Black Swan long-range cargo drone and Hensoldt’s MissionGrid suite. The fully European Airborne Early Warning system combines the endurance, payload and range of the Black Swan with Hensoldt’s mission sensor systems, including MissMarvin mission management software and the PrecISR Synthetic Aperture Radar, to detect and target airborne, ground and maritime threats and address critical coverage gaps in national airspace.

Hensoldt and Helsing have signed a strategic partnership to develop AI-enabled combat air systems within a sovereign European technology architecture, aimed at strengthening the security of Western democracies amid significant geopolitical change. Hensoldt has received several major orders from KNDS to equip combat and armoured personnel carriers with digital optronics, marking a further step towards Software-Defined Defence. With a total value of more than €400 million, the contracts rank among the most significant orders for digital vision systems in the land sector.
