On 15 August, Turkey’s Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB) announced the successful live firing of the Hisar-D RF air defence and missile defence system. The missile was launched from the domestically developed Roketsan VLS MİDLAS system installed on board the prototype frigate Istanbul (F 515) of the İSTİF class, operating in the Black Sea off the coast of Sinop.
