Hanwha Aerospace today announced that its subsidiary, Hanwha Defence Australia (HDA), has signed a USD 2.4 billion (USD) contract with the Australian government for the delivery of 129 Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs), including the development and delivery of the training system components and support system components.

Safran has been chosen to supply PASEO Joint Fires advanced day and night panoramic sight for integration on the Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV).

The German Bundeswehr has contracted with Rheinmetall to produce and supply medium-calibre ammunition for the Puma infantry fighting vehicle. A call-off from an existing framework agreement, the order encompasses several hundred thousand rounds of 30mm x 173 DM21 service ammunition. The order is worth over EUR 350 million, including value added tax. Once perfect functionality has been demonstrated, delivery will begin this year and continue through to 2027.

The German technology company VINCORION has been awarded the contract to improve the power system in the Puma infantry fighting vehicles. As part of this, the power electronics are being reengineered and designed to be more robust with modern components.
