Military analysts in the United States believe Russia could launch further major air attacks on Ukraine like the one that killed several dozen people on Friday, which was the largest barrage of missiles and drones since the start of the war.

Russia upgrades Kh-101 cruise missile with additional warhead

Russia has successfully upgraded the Kh-101 cruise missile, now featuring a warhead that weighs approximately 800kg, effectively doubling the payload from its previous capacity of around 400kg.

The Kh-101 cruise missile is one of the latest Russian strategic weapons systems. Its range of approximately 2500 km makes it one of the few weapons in Russia's arsenal capable of striking the entire territory of Ukraine. This weapon became the primary tool in attacks on Ukraine conducted on December 29 and January 2.
