The United States Secretary of the Navy announced on 5 December that European shipbuilder Damen had been chosen in the competitive process to supply the design for the new Landing Ship Medium vessels. The core of the Dutch group’s offer is the LST-100 design, with construction of the first ship expected to begin in 2026.
