NATO has appointed Major General Lena Persson Herlitz as Deputy Assistant Secretary General Intelligence, placing her in one of the Alliance’s leading positions. Swedish Minister for Defence Pål Jonson said: “This is an important appointment for Sweden. Major General Persson Herlitz will now be one of the more senior Swedish officials at NATO. This is in line with Sweden’s overall objective of getting more Swedes in relevant NATO positions.”
