The U.S. Navy’s Maritime Industrial Base (MIB) Program, General Dynamics Electric Boat, and Lincoln Electric have announced a joint investment to accelerate the use of additive manufacturing in nuclear-powered submarine construction. The initiative aims to improve supply chain efficiency and meet increasing production targets, including one Columbia-class and two Virginia-class submarines annually by 2028.
