LMT has recently succeeded in trialing the 5G technology maritime concept that holds the potential to enable 5G connectivity over open waters.
From October 23rd to October 27th, NATO Allied Command Transformation and the Latvian Ministry of Defence led the “2023 Next Generation Communication Networks Technology Event”.
Allied Commander Transformation and the Latvian Ministry of Defence have signed an agreement to use the country’s 5G test site for defence.
LMT’s participation in these projects includes studying the potential of 5G in defence and the interoperability of the 5G network and conventional military communication systems.
The testbed, originally launched by telecommunications innovator LMT in collaboration with the Latvian National Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence, has been in operation since November of 2020.
