Europe has made a convincing commitment to the importance of space at the just concluded Ministerial Conference of the 22 member states of the European Space Agency ESA. ESA members have also made it clear that they are willing and able to play a leading role in global spaceflight by investing around EUR 17 billion in programmes and missions over the next three years.
