Applied Research Associates (ARA) has been awarded a two-year contract by the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s Armaments Directorate to act as the System Design Agent for a Next Generation Penetrator (NGP) weapon. The award follows the June use of the GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP) in Operation Midnight Hammer, when the 30,000-pound munition was employed to destroy Iran’s deeply buried nuclear development sites.
