Safran Federal Systems has received a contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) under the Robust Quantum Sensor (RoQS) programme, a major initiative aimed at strengthening the Department of War’s ability to provide assured Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) in GPS-denied and contested environments. The contract covers the first phase of the programme, during which Safran will develop and test quantum sensors designed to maintain reliable performance despite environmental disruptions.
