Maxar Intelligence released the first images collected by the highly anticipated WorldView Legion satellites.

Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) and U.S. space transportation company Firefly Aerospace have signed a collaborative agreement to jointly launch satellites with Firefly’s Alpha rocket from the newly inaugurated spaceport at Esrange Space Center in Sweden, starting in 2026. Together, Firefly and SSC are establishing an orbital launch service in Europe with a flight-proven launch vehicle, supporting commercial, civil, and defence customers.

This year will see the launch of Poland’s largest and most advanced satellite to date into Earth orbit. Developed by Creotech Instruments, Scanway, and the Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences (CBK PAN), EagleEye is based on the proprietary HyperSat platform. This platform enables a wide range of space missions and is already a critical component of many national and European projects, both civilian and defense. The mission scheduled for this year will substantially expedite the commercialization process of the platform. Constructed entirely within Poland and engaging local companies, EagleEye enhances national capabilities in designing small satellites and signifies a pivotal advancement for the Polish space sector. This initiative paves the way for local enterprises into the rapidly expanding and lucrative market for the design, construction, integration, and launch of smallsats.

EagleEye is the first satellite designed and built in Poland weighing more than 50 kg.

OHB System AG, a subsidiary of the space technology group OHB SE, has been selected as the main partner of Spanish space company GMV for the development and assembly of four satellites and the associated payloads for the LEO-PNT (Low Earth Orbit - Positioning Navigation Timing) navigation satellite programme. The contract between the client ESA (European Space Agency) and GMV was signed this week in Paris. OHB is working on this mission as a subcontractor to GMV: OHB’s share of the total contract is valued at around EUR 38 million.
