On December 13, the U-35, one of the German Navy Type 212-class submarines, returned to a naval base in Eckernförde and completed its service as part of the European Union Naval Force Mediterranean IRINI (UNAVFOR Med Irini). During the mission, U-35 operated on the Mediterranean Sea to support the execution of the United Nations arms embargo on Libya.
