German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall and Croatian robotics firm DOK-ING have signed an agreement to form a joint venture, aiming to create advanced unmanned vehicles designed to support and protect armoured forces on the battlefield. The agreement, signed in Berlin on 28 October 2024, envisions a range of robotic vehicles capable of mine clearance, air defence, reconnaissance, and logistical support, pending regulatory approval from the European Commission and antitrust authorities.
