Telespazio, a joint venture between Leonardo (67%) and Thales (33%), has been awarded two framework contracts to provide support services to the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) and the European Commission. The contracts, valued at over EUR 144 million, will be executed by Telespazio’s subsidiaries in France and Belgium over a four-year period.

The first contract, Lot 5, focuses on Operations and Service Provision and Management Support and is led by Telespazio France. The second, Lot 4, centres on Project Management and Quality Support and is headed by Telespazio Belgium. Together, these projects will involve around 100 professionals operating across EUSPA sites, European Commission facilities, and Telespazio’s own locations.

Lot 5, coordinated by Telespazio France, includes collaboration with Telespazio entities in Germany and Spain, along with partners such as CETRA BASE, ESYEN, EVIDEN, GMV, and THALES SERVICES NUMERIQUES (TSN). The contract covers deployment, maintenance, and operations for both ground and space segments, as well as management of service-hosting sites.

Lot 4, under Telespazio Belgium, involves partnerships with Business Integration Partners S.p.A., ATG Europe BV, and Telespazio France. This contract focuses on project assurance, quality assurance, reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) tasks, as well as Project Office support.

“These contracts testify to the trust placed in us by EUSPA and the European Commission,” said Jean-Marc Gardin, Deputy CEO of Telespazio and CEO of Telespazio France. “We are ready to continue providing high-quality support to the European Union Space Programme in fields such as Navigation, Earth Observation, and future space-based services.”

Federico Rossi, CEO of Telespazio Belgium, echoed the sentiment, stating: “The award of these contracts is a clear acknowledgment of our engineering expertise and our ability to meet our clients’ needs. Our teams have worked diligently to present a competitive and valuable offer.”
