Terma secures contract to enhance Belgian airspace surveillance

Terma announced that SCANTER 4002 radars have been selected by Belgian Defence to enhance the nation's airspace surveillance capabilities at both military bases and civil airports.

 

The contract includes delivery and installation of several SCANTER 4002 Primary Surveillance Radars (PSR) throughout Belgium to improve radar coverage in terminal areas and enable detection of small and non-cooperative targets.

 

 

The SCANTER 4002 radar is a commercial off-the-shelf solution, designed from the start to mitigate interference from wind turbines and ensure uninterrupted and reliable radar detection even in areas with significant wind energy installations. Since 2014, this radar has been operational across several European Airports as PSR featuring integrated mitigation technology for wind turbine interference and is today the leading solution globally for addressing radar interference caused by wind turbines.
