Described as Türkiye’s longest-range missile to date, TAYFUN has a stated range of 500 to 800 kilometres, with future versions aiming to exceed 1,000 kilometres. The missile has been engineered for high precision, reportedly capable of striking targets within a margin of approximately five metres, including moving naval assets at sea.
The system is mobile-launched, allowing for rapid relocation and quick deployment, features that increase its survivability in contested environments. Turkish defence analysts note that TAYFUN is hypersonic, resistant to jamming, and difficult for adversaries to intercept, underlining Ankara’s continued focus on indigenous defence technologies.
This year’s IDEF exhibition features a renewed format and is expected to host delegations from NATO allies and global defence industries. TAYFUN’s unveiling is likely to draw significant attention for its technological advancements and its potential impact on the strategic balance in the Eastern Mediterranean.
