The MH-139 Grey Wolf is designed to replace the Air Force’s aging UH-1N Huey fleet, with its primary mission focused on the security and surveillance of the nation’s intercontinental ballistic missile sites.
In addition to its nuclear security role, the aircraft’s greater speed, range and lifting capacity are expected to support distinguished visitor airlift, search and rescue, disaster response, and other priority security and transport missions for Air Force Global Strike Command and other major commands, underscoring its role as a multi-mission platform.
