The U.S. Air Forces in Europe – Air Forces Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) led the American military’s participation at the 2025 Paris Air Show, held last week in France. The event concluded on 22 June, bringing together global aerospace leaders for exhibitions, demonstrations, and industry forums.

Throughout the week, U.S. service members engaged with Allied and partner air forces, defence officials, and international aerospace representatives. The American presence aimed to reinforce the U.S. Air Force’s commitment to innovation, cooperation, and readiness among its global partners.

A key feature was the International Rocketry Challenge, where high school students from France, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Japan competed to safely launch and recover a raw egg via rocket. This STEM-focused initiative, supported by the Aerospace Industries Association and the U.S. Air Force, also included a mentoring session to inspire the next generation of aerospace innovators.

The U.S. Army and Navy joined the Air Force in demonstrating joint capabilities, highlighting the integrated nature of American military operations worldwide. A diverse array of aircraft underscored U.S. readiness to deliver airpower anywhere at any time.

Among the aircraft on display were the U.S. Air Force’s F-35A Lightning II, F-15E Strike Eagle, KC-46A Pegasus, C-130J Super Hercules, C-17 Globemaster III, and MQ-9 Reaper. The U.S. Navy showcased the P-8A Poseidon, while the U.S. Army contributed the CH-47 Chinook and UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters.

“Military strength and economic security go hand in hand,” said Colonel Christopher “P.K.” Cassem, Deputy Director of Operations for USAFE-AFAFRICA and Air Boss for the show. “Our presence here strengthens alliances that fuel jobs, trade and investment at home while building security that lasts with our Allies, ensuring we can stand shoulder to shoulder, ready to fight and win.”

The U.S. military’s participation at the Paris Air Show demonstrated its enduring commitment to peace through strength, technological leadership, and close cooperation with France and other Allied nations.
