U.S. Army awards $982 million multi-year contract to Mistral and Uvision for HERO 120 systems

Mistral Inc. and Uvision Inc. announced that the U.S. Army has awarded them a $982 million multi-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract for the Lethal Unmanned System programme. The deal covers procurement, fielding, training and sustainment of the HERO 120 loitering munition system.

The HERO 120, developed by Uvision Air Ltd., is a mid-range loitering munition optimised for precision strikes on armoured and high-value targets. Mistral Inc. will act as the prime contractor, responsible for system integration, lethality package, programme management and sustainment support.

The HERO 120 has proven effective in diverse operational environments, offering enhanced battlefield awareness, identification, tracking and precision engagement. Its open architecture and modular design support a wide range of payloads, making it suitable for both conventional and asymmetric operations.

The contract provides for system deliveries, training and lifecycle sustainment. Initial deliveries under the agreement are expected to begin in early 2026.
