The deal was signed in Warsaw on September 9. Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security Thomas DiNanno represented the U.S. government.
The new financing will support Poland’s military modernization. It also marks the latest expansion of defense ties between Washington and one of NATO’s largest military investors.
Poland has acquired F-35 fighter aircraft, Apache attack helicopters and Patriot air defense systems. Its purchases also include HIMARS rocket launchers and advanced radar technologies.
The State Department said the investments strengthen Poland’s national defense. They also generate demand for the U.S. defense industrial base.
The agreement follows the delivery of F-35 aircraft to Poland in May 2026. The milestone opened a new stage of interoperability between the U.S. and Polish air forces.
Washington described the financing as part of its long-term strategic partnership with Warsaw. The relationship is focused on national defense and wider security within NATO.
