This contract is an extension of the original agreement signed in February 2021. With this latest order, the total value of ACV family vehicle procurements has now exceeded USD 3.85 billion.
Production of the ACV-30 units will be carried out at multiple BAE Systems facilities across the United States. The primary manufacturing site in York, Pennsylvania, will handle around 60% of the work, with additional production taking place in Aiken, South Carolina (15%), San Jose, California (15%), Sterling Heights, Michigan (5%), and Stafford, Virginia (5%).
The ACV-30 distinguishes itself from other variants in the ACV family primarily through its advanced weapon system. It is equipped with a Kongsberg Protector RT20 remote-controlled turret featuring a 30mm Northrop Grumman M813 cannon, alongside a 7.62mm coaxial machine gun.
Despite its compact and lightweight design—weighing only 1,250 kg in its base configuration—the turret integrates a modern fire control system. However, its ammunition capacity is limited, holding just 150 rounds for the main cannon (two magazines of 75 rounds each) and 200 rounds for the machine gun.
The turret’s design does not intrude into the vehicle’s hull, preserving space for crew and infantry while enabling the use of heavier armaments without compromising operational efficiency. The ACV-30 is a key variant within the ACV family, alongside the ACV-P personnel carrier, ACV-C command vehicle, and the upcoming ACV-R recovery vehicle.
Deliveries of the ACV-30 are expected to be completed by August 2028.
