The U.S. Department of State has announced a new USD 4 billion Foreign Military Financing (FMF) loan guarantee for Poland. This latest financial support brings the total U.S. loan and loan guarantees extended to Poland for military purchases to over USD 11 billion in the past two years.

The funds are intended to accelerate Poland’s comprehensive military modernisation programme, aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Polish Armed Forces. The financing will help Poland acquire advanced U.S. military equipment, including AH-64E Apache helicopters, reconnaissance aerostats under the Barbara programme, High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), and the Integrated Air and Missile Defence Battle Command System (IBCS) for the Patriot system.
