The UK Ministry of Defence has announced the arrival of three additional Boeing AH-64E Apache attack helicopters, transported by air to the country. This latest delivery brings the total number of AH-64E Apaches in the UK to 47, with three more expected to complete the full order of 50 aircraft.

The AH-64E model replaces the older Apache Mk 1, a fleet of 67 AH-64D helicopters previously customised to meet British Army requirements. The modernisation process involves upgrading existing airframes with new components, ensuring higher operational readiness for the UK’s Army Air Corps.

Deliveries of the AH-64E Apache began in November 2020, with the first regiment achieving initial operational capability in October 2023. While the full delivery was originally scheduled for completion in 2024, logistical challenges have extended the timeline by an additional year.

Currently, the UK is the largest European operator of the AH-64E, a position it will hold until Poland progresses with its order of 96 helicopters. Meanwhile, Morocco is set to receive its first batch of six AH-64Es in the coming days, with an official reception planned for early March.
