“Since our last conversation, we have finalized the procedures for launching a new joint production facility,” said Shmyhal. He added that the site, allocated on 9 September, will support the Defence Forces with increased ammunition supplies.
The discussions also covered broader cooperation in producing and repairing armoured vehicles, with Rheinmetall presenting new models that could strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities. Both parties emphasised the importance of expanding joint work on air defence solutions.
Shmyhal highlighted that enhancing measures to counter enemy drones formed a key part of the talks. “I am sincerely grateful to Rheinmetall for its support and for advancing joint large-scale projects,” he said.
