Ukraine's Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal announced the signing of several new defence agreements with German partners with a total value exceeding €1.2 billion. He said the most significant commitments followed talks between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Friedrich Merz, under which Germany will allocate €11.5 billion in support for Ukraine in the coming year.

The agreements include long-term supply of spare parts for Patriot air defence systems, procurement of Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial vehicles worth €200 million, and the production of 200 Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems on the Zetros chassis valued at €750 million. They also cover joint production of LINZA reconnaissance drones with German partner Quantum Systems and contracts to ensure uninterrupted delivery of advanced tactical-level electronic warfare systems.

“I thank Minister of Defence Boris Pistorius for announcing this important support during the Ramstein-format meeting,” Shmyhal said, referring to Boris Pistorius. “We especially value the delivery of the two pledged Patriot systems and the ninth IRIS-T system, which will contribute to the protection of Ukrainian cities and reinforce European security.”
