Ukraine introduces ‘Vespa-15’ unmanned aerial system for military use

By Defence Industry Europe

The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has officially codified and approved the operational use of the Ukrainian-made unmanned aerial system ‘Vespa-15’ within the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This significant development was announced by the MoD’s Main Directorate for Support of the Life Cycle of Weapons and Military Equipment.

The name ‘Vespa’ translates to ‘wasp’ in Italian, reflecting the drone’s swift and precise capabilities. The ‘Vespa-15’ system is specifically designed to engage targets at considerable distances, with the ability to carry substantial combat payloads.

One of the key features of the ‘Vespa-15’ is its enhanced resistance to enemy electronic warfare measures, making it highly resilient in hostile environments. The drone system is not only capable of targeting enemy personnel but also armored vehicles, automobiles, field fortifications, and other military assets.

Furthermore, the system encompasses a variety of drone models tailored to perform distinct operations during both day and night conditions. This versatility is expected to significantly enhance the operational capacity of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
