Ukrainian forces have hit 408,000 Russian drones since the start of the year, according to the country’s defence ministry. More than 35,000 of them were Shahed-type drones, all within a period of just under 10 months.

The remainder were made up of nearly 248,000 fixed-wing drones and nearly 125,000 multirotor drones. The ministry said each hit had been recorded on video in the DELTA combat system and verified by Brave1, Ukraine’s defence innovation cluster.

DELTA lets Ukrainian units confirm that a drone has been brought down and go back over the details of each engagement. According to the ministry, this helps commanders see which solutions work and roll them out more quickly.

The system is part of the command-and-control infrastructure Ukraine uses on the battlefield, and the ministry counts it among the technologies that give its forces an edge over Russia’s.

Ukrainian troops also logged 1.8 million completed-mission results in September through Mission Control, a module within DELTA. That number covers the outcomes of all kinds of missions, not only drone interceptions.

The results are stored in Mission Control so they can be analysed and used to plan later operations. The ministry presented the figures together with the drone tally as an example of how recorded battlefield data is shaping operational decisions.
