The Armed Forces of Ukraine have taken delivery of an additional batch of 40 new RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles. These drones were provided by the German Federal Government.

This marks the second batch of RQ-35 Heidrun drones delivered by the German Government to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. As reported by Defence Industry Europe, the initial batch of 20 RQ-35 Heidruns was transferred to Ukraine in late July. The decision to deliver these UAVs to Ukraine was announced by Germany just a week prior.

The RQ-35 Heidrun drone is manufactured by the Danish company Sky-Watch. Designed for tactical-level reconnaissance and intelligence missions, the drone serves as an organic ISR platform, offering ground force commanders enhanced situational awareness. With a range of up to 30 kilometers for live video feed, the drone is well-suited for collecting real-time sensor data from critical mission areas, all while keeping operators safe from direct fire dangers.
