The U.S. Department of State has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to Israel for munitions and related support services. The proposed deal has an estimated total value of $151.8 million.

According to the department, the Government of Israel has requested the purchase of 12,000 BLU-110A/B general purpose bomb bodies weighing 1,000 pounds each. The sale also includes engineering, logistics and technical support services provided by the U.S. government and contractors.

The package contains additional elements related to logistics and program support. These services are intended to support the integration and operational use of the munitions.

The Secretary of State determined that an emergency situation justified the immediate approval of the transaction. The department stated that the decision allows the sale to proceed without the standard congressional review process required under Section 36(b) of the Arms Export Control Act.

According to the department, the determination was made because the sale serves U.S. national security interests. The waiver enables the rapid transfer of defense articles and services to Israel.

The department said the proposed sale supports broader U.S. foreign policy objectives in the Middle East. It stated that Israel remains an important strategic partner in the region.

Officials also said the transaction is intended to strengthen Israel’s ability to address current and future security challenges. The department noted that the sale will improve Israel’s homeland defense capabilities and act as a deterrent against regional threats.

The principal contractor for the proposed sale will be Repkon USA, based in Garland, Texas. Part of the BLU-110A/B bomb body requirement will be fulfilled through transfers from existing stock.
