United States delivers $4 billion Foreign Military Financing loan guarantee to Poland

By Defence Industry Europe

The United States has announced a $4 billion Foreign Military Financing (FMF) loan guarantee to Poland, reinforcing its strategic partnership with the country. This support reflects Poland’s dedication to its national defence and its commitment to NATO’s collective security.

Poland is recognised by the United States as one of its strongest and most reliable allies in Europe, serving as a key front-line state on NATO’s Eastern Flank. Since 2023, Poland has made significant progress in modernising its military, including the acquisition of advanced U.S. defence systems such as Apache helicopters, HIMARS, Patriot missile systems, and the Airspace and Surface Radar Reconnaissance System.

The FMF loan programme also benefits U.S. national security by enabling allies like Poland to purchase American-made defence equipment. It supports U.S. jobs across several states—including Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, and Texas—while strengthening industrial innovation.

“These deals promote peace through strength and ensure our allies are capable of defending themselves with reliable, proven systems built by the best defense industrial base in the world,” the U.S. Department of State stated. The investment ensures that Poland is equipped with trusted defence platforms while supporting American industry.

The loan guarantee reaffirms the United States’ commitment to strategic partnerships founded on shared values and priorities. “Working together, the United States and Poland are securing the future of NATO, deterring aggression, and standing firm for freedom, sovereignty, and peace in Europe,” the Department added.
