According to a statement released by Poland’s defence procurement agency, the framework agreement covers the future delivery of approximately 1,000 Warmate loitering munition systems. Each system consists of 10 Warmate units.
Under this agreement, WB Group will sign specified executive orders for deliveries of weapon systems to the Polish Armed Forces by 2035. The value of the deal has not been disclosed. However, unofficial information indicates that it is approximately EUR 250 million.
Warmate loitering munition is intended for identifying and striking lightly armoured targets, field fortifications, or enemy personnel, depending on the applied warhead. The warheads are interchangeable and can include cumulative, fragmentation-explosive, incendiary, or thermobaric types.
The system is equipped with control modules that enable full automation of most flight phases and support the operator during the targeting phase. Operation is conducted in real-time, based on video transmission from the observation subsystem. The operator has full control over the choice of the system’s operating mode between the reusable reconnaissance mode and the one-time combat mode.
The characteristics of the combat platform differ depending on the version. According to the manufacturer, the device’s length is 1.1 metres, the wingspan is 1.6 metres, and the take-off weight is approximately 5.5 kilograms. It is powered by an electric motor driving a two-blade pusher propeller. The maximum flight duration is stated to be 60 minutes, and the range is limited by the radio link of the ground control station to 30 kilometres.
The flight altitude during the approach to the target ranges from 150 to 300 metres. The cruising speed is 80 km/h, while the maximum speed in attack mode is 150 km/h.
