Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that Russia is carrying out increasingly brutal strikes against Ukraine ahead of winter. The President outlined Ukraine’s specific needs for air defence systems and compatible missiles, as well as F-16 aircraft, while Lockheed Martin representatives shared information on the company’s production capacities.
The meeting also addressed prospects for cooperation and ways to strengthen Ukraine’s protection against Russian aggression. Lockheed Martin is open to partnership, and Zelenskyy emphasized that “our state knows the concrete steps required to enhance its defence and is working with partners at all levels.”
In Washington, the President also met with representatives of the defence company Raytheon, which manufactures, among other products, Patriot systems. Zelenskyy thanked Raytheon for these systems and emphasized that “they have helped save many Ukrainian lives.”
Volodymyr Zelenskyy provided an update on the current situation in Ukraine, particularly on the battlefield. According to the President, “Russia is failing to achieve any of its objectives, which is why it is intensifying attacks on civilian infrastructure and people, including strikes on the energy system.”
He added that “during these attacks, the Russians launch more than 500 drones and dozens of missiles each day.” The company representatives expressed their condolences to Ukrainians who have lost family members and loved ones in the Russian strikes and assured their readiness to support Ukraine.
Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine’s air defence must be strengthened with additional systems and compatible missiles and outlined the specific needs. The parties discussed Raytheon’s production capacity, potential avenues for cooperation to strengthen Ukraine’s air defence and long-range capabilities, as well as the prospects for Ukrainian–American joint production.
