The Dutch Ministry of Defence announced that the fourteen Leopard 2A4 main battle tanks, jointly purchased by the Netherlands and Denmark, will be delivered to the Armed Forces of Ukraine by the end of summer.

According to a statement published by the ministry, twelve of the tanks are already ready for shipment to Ukraine. The remaining two Leopard 2A4s are currently undergoing verification tests. All fourteen tanks have been overhauled and prepared for deployment to combat by German defense company Rheinmetall, the Dutch Ministry of Defence said.

“These tanks can play a crucial role for the Ukrainian army in defending against Russian troops. The Netherlands, together with allies and partners, will continue to support Ukraine as long as necessary. This is essential to protect Ukraine and deter Putin’s aggression,” said Ruben Brekelmans, Minister of Defence of the Netherlands.
