The YILDIRIM 100 system neutralised incoming threats by directing multi-band laser energy at the missile seekers, effectively preventing impact. As a ready-for-deployment solution in modern air combat scenarios, the system promises high operational availability and low energy consumption.
Designed for both rotary and fixed-wing aircraft, the YILDIRIM 100 can simultaneously detect, track, and neutralise multiple missile threats. It employs dual-turret architecture, advanced sensors, and an integrated control unit to ensure fast, synchronised reactions and seamless coordination with onboard missile warning systems.
ASELSAN highlighted that the system’s compatibility with various aircraft platforms allows it to address both current and emerging missile challenges. The laser-based countermeasure technology showcased in YILDIRIM 100 places Türkiye among a small group of countries with such advanced capabilities.
Ahmet Akyol, President and CEO of ASELSAN, commented: “With the successful test of YILDIRIM 100, we take great pride in advancing our country’s air defence capabilities to the level of the world’s leading nations.” He added, “As we celebrate ASELSAN’s 50th anniversary, this achievement reflects the strength of our indigenous technological excellence and our unwavering commitment to innovation.”
